In 2001 a group of like-minded musicians got together to form a classic 17-piece Big Band. The Golden Era of Big Band Swing - the 1930's-50's - provided the fantastic backbone of the initial repertoire, the group never wanted to be restricted in the styles of music it wanted to play...
And so SUBB was born - to play ANY music (as long as it "swings"!)

Over the years SUBB has continued to develop an unlimited range of music, which we have performed at an unlimited range of venues, functions and events such as:
SUBB perform a variety of concerts at the Regent Centre every year. Our annual 'Night at the Movies' in aid of Help for Heroes (pictured left) is just one such event.
There is also our annual remembrance concert every November. Both sell out shows!
A favourite venue for the SUBB Group for the past 7 years, whether playing in support of the Tulip Appeal for Women's Breast Cancer in June, or our own annual show in September...
Audiences bring picnics and hampers (cafe & beer tent available if they don't!), rarely fewer than 1500-2000 people.
SUBB also perform a fantastic Christmas Jazz concert every December (pictured)! This year it takes place on Wednesday 2nd December in the Great Hall. See the gig listings for times and ticket details.
Christchurch Food Festival
A fantastic annual event in Christchurch High Street with a feast of food and fun - including live music from Swing Unlimited Big Band.
SUBB also regularly perform at Christchurch's Christmas Festival in Saxon Square.
